My tale of long, long ago...

Long ago and a story untold… by Vegas Dreams

(Ok, I liked the sound of a Bilbo Baggins kind of story line… ya, ya, Sci-Fi is Sci-Fi and I like Lord of the Rings almost as much as Star Wars!)

My tale begins with the admission of old age catching up to me and my mind starting to go. I can’t tell you of specific dates or times, but I can give you the ideas and the community we had.

My name was Vegas Dreams. Normally people would have known me as Towani, maybe even Towani Vegas, however in this place the name of Towani was only to be used by the family that crash landed in Endor. So, my identity would be hidden for the time.

There were many of us, about 7, who since before beta would read ever article we could about the upcoming SW MMO. I loved Star Wars, in fact, so much so that I would run paper and pencil RPG campaigns almost weekly, alternating with a friend who would also run. We would run campaigns according to what I imagined the game to be like.

The day was finally here and we all had our copies only to discover that on Day we, not a single one of us could log in. Hence, we had to settle for Day 2.

We choose Scylla as our home. Immediately we began to work to build our city. Back then it was so long ago I can’t even remember my guilds name or where our first city was. Sadly too is that I’ve reformatted my HD since so I don’t even have any pics to show.

That guild ended up having eternal struggles which lead a lot of us to break off and form our own guild. That guild also didn’t last more than a few months which finally lead to a majority of us creating the city of Sun Valley and our own guild, labeled SV. We were on Naboo, not far from Keren, I believe (although I can’t be 100% sure anymore).

I began as a smuggler / pistoleer. I had my heart set on smuggler since day 1. I would switch back and forth from pistoleer to BH, TKM, and Commando.

I was also the highest ranking Rebel you could get. For some reason I can’t remember if you could attain a General rank of not, but none-the-less, I held whatever it was.

During combat I had a sleek red and black armor outfit I would wear. Sun Valley members all had the same colored armor, as it was our way of standing out. When not in combat though, I wore purple and white camouflage.

Well, I stuck with the game up until the CU. Even after the CU I would log in and chat with friends, but by the NGE, I had left the game. I did log in once or twice this year to see if anyone was still on, but my mailbox was full of good byes and letters from friends I would probably never hear from again.

We had a close group of friends that I do miss. We would hunt together, search together, share everything, and never had problems with greed or power.

I look forward to this SWG EMU as I look forward to my friend, the Vindicators, being a welcoming and friendly guild (and maybe even a power to be reckin’ with) my friends of
past.
