PC trouble

Ok, so my roomie(pepsifester) is having some serious computer trouble. New mobo, new V/C, tried reinstalling vindoze, but it BSODs when we're trying to install XP. Sometimes it just doesn't boot. I'll get the hardware specs when I get home, but if anyone has an idea on what's going on I'll be your best friend ever.
