Suggestions on how to not kill myself from boredom

I'm going on a business trip to a little town called Medford, Wisconsin next week. From what I hear, it's in the middle of nowhere and there's nothing to do there. If I had a descent laptop, there would be no problems since I could still play games at night. Should I just try and pass out as early as possible each night and pray for the time to go by faster? Or learn about the art of fine cheese making?
