| What I did like about Planetside is the cert system, but I think that we had far too many certs once you'd reached BR25.
If you remember, back at the launch of the game everyone had low BR and it actually mattered what certs you had, as you had to rely on others to have a full set of skills.
Once everyone reaches ~BR20 thought, people all have the basic certs and have a whole slew of extra certs to play with. The only really dedicated role in the game was infiltrator, as you had to have cloaker suit, Ad Hack and CE, as well as ATV and Mossie if you were serious. This was most your certs, and you had to play with them all the time.
What id like to see is enough points to get an advanced offensive role (say AV, AA, Special weapons), an advanced support role ( medic, commander, enginner, transporter, communications, etc) and a vehicle role.
You could of course sacrifice points from one of the roles and put it into another role, but then you'd lose out in that field.
This promotes teamwork as you have to rely on others, and makes players excell in certain areas.
Some really advanced equipment, like mechs if they were ingame would require you to sacrifice a great deal, leaving you with pretty much only basic weapons if you were outside the vehicle. |
