| In a MMO military game, Id like to see the following structure, how far up the scale goes depends on how many troops are available on each zone.
Unit - 5 Troops - Led by Sergeant. Sergeants give orders to their troops by using a context sensitive cursor, allowing them to designate areas to move to, defend, attack, targets to focus on, doors to breach, etc. Sergeants can accept simple tasks from Captains, such as defend the generator.
Squad - 10 Troops (2 Units) - Led by Leutenant (Formally Sergeant but gets promoted when Squad is formed). Leutenants can accept missions from Captains, such as defending a base area.
Platoon - 31 Troops (3 Squads + Leutenant) - Led by Leutenant (Seperate to Squads). Leutenants can accept objectives from Majors, such as defending a base.
Company - 94 Troops (3 Platoons + Major) - Led by Major (Seperate to Platoons). Majors can accept goals from Colonels, such as defending part of a zone.
Battalion - 283 Troops (3 Company's + Colonel) - Led by Major (Seperate to Company's).
The various commanders who are seperate to the platoon/company/etc form a command unit. |
