I'm really wondering just how important gear is going to be. Its been an ongoing debate on the DF forums.

If gear has too little impact on a character then pvp is going to devolve into nothing more than an fps with the better players opting for the cheapest/easiest stuff to acquire and fight nearly naked/newbie gear.

I feel myself on this side of the arguement. While I like having it be player skill in the same light I don't want it to devolve into mindless fighting with no risk/purpose. If the gear is so meaningless then I will fight without any worry of risking losing something nice.

The other side really doesn't care and seems to think that losing this cheap gear will have some big meaning.


Anyone want to fly to Greece and hold a Dev at gun point with me?
