Thinking of going Amarr

Since I've been playing, I've considered moving away from my Caldari roots and into Amarr ships instead. I figure that since I rolled a non-com character anyway that it wouldn't be that much of a problem. I'm thinking of going right into their BSs. Is it feasible to have Amarr ships that are good for PVP? Any other comments/suggestions?

Edit: Obviously I'm not rerolling, I just plan on training up Amarr ships after I'm done with my Exhumers.
