Normally, I don't go for the stuff that korean-based companies put out (because of their complete lack of attention to gameplay)- but NCSoft seems to have stumbled onto something here. Something free, that is.
I've been playing this game for about a week now with four other people from my dorm, and it's a fun experience that reminds me of a persistent, online "Mechwarrior Mercenaries"- anime style.
The game is free to download and free to play- so there's no harm in trying it out. =) Combat is fun, and- suprisingly skill-oriented. The only downside is that there -are- "purchaseable" equipments that you buy using "NC Coins" (A-la Gunbound).
However, -unlike- gunbound, the purchaseable items are all "Mid range" alternatives. Any and all of the high-end equipment requires Credits, and good old fashioned skill to obtain- meaning that people who sink money into the game get good mechs early on, but no experience with learning the game in the early levels when you don't have to pay for upkeep. That inexperience comes back to bite them in the ass when they have to start earning the best equipment at higher levels.
So anybody who gives it a try, tell me what you think- and Friend Dragoneye. =)
