It's not just about unbalanced equipment anymore.

I guess this could be considered a whine, but I don't think so.
I played a game of Exteel last night against some high-ranking players. The game started out being severely stacked, with all the elite players on one team, and a ramshackle bunch on the other. I was on the latter. The whole opposing team consisted of mainly Zeeker parts, with spitters for their primary(in 80% of the cases) and a rocket launcher as their secondary. Every. Last. One. Their strategy revolved around grabbing points and spamming rockets all day till they won...
Oddly enough, they didn't win by that much. Our team put up one hell of a fight. We were on top for a while, too. While their team had all the unbalanced weaponry that money could buy, we had the synergy. We had a pair of cannoneers(myself among them), a medic, couple melee specialists, and of course some shooty people. While we had a hard time trying to fight their massed rocket barrages(who wouldn't?), we had some mobility and flexibility that their team sorely lacked. Plus, the moment they tried to move up, the cannoneers would hold them at range while our teammates moved up. I got to show these noobs that cannoneers aren't just immobile targets.
Plus I got to whack each one of these losers at least once with my cannon(including SixShock, man I don't like him). Once they realized I was hurting 'em pretty badly, they started focusing attention on me, and that's when I started running around with my sword and board while they overheated themselves trying to kill one lone person.
So, I guess the point of this tale is that it's not necessarily about being higher level, or having the "broken" equipment... A lot of it is about strong synergy with your team.
