So that's why I haven't been around for the past week.

The conference was pretty awesome- I was only there on a Student pass, but I was still able to go around and talk to a bunch of reps and developers from Valve, Blizzard, 2k, Bioware and pretty much every other company you can think of.
Passed around a bunch of resumes, and then checked out the Expo floor.

They've got some pretty awesome stuff showing off- a lot of image recoegnition technology, a Mouse with WADS built into it, and even a set of four -FANS- that you're supposed to put next to your speakers, that is used to simulate the wind of movement and breezes in First person games like Quake 4 and oblivion.

To cap it off, we attended a conference given by the lead writer and lead developer of Portals. =) After it was over, they had a public QA session- and I got the chance to ask about when they decided to put Portals into the HL universe. (Turns out it was pretty early on.)

Did anybody else go this year?
