Okay, so those announcements on the 2142 page about the Arabian Peninsula were because they're adding a new map to the game, along with a 1.40 patch!

The map's called Highway Tampa, and the patch is in beta stage right now. It's a tank map(yay!) and will support Dual Assault Lines and Titan AFAIK.
